EPHS Drama Program
In fall, our amazing students take the stage with a must-see musical, followed by a one-act play full of heart. Throughout the year, they’ll bring new stories to life in powerful winter and spring productions. Come celebrate the creativity, hard work, and talent of our performers and crew—we can’t wait to share the magic with you!
Fall Musical
- Location: Performing Arts Center
- Fees: $135 (costumes are provided, but students may need to purchase individual supplies, such as make-up kit and dance shoes)
- Description: Students produce a Broadway musical by performing in the cast or pit orchestra and/or working in a variety of production crews
- Requirements/Expectations: Attendance at all scheduled rehearsals or crew meetings. Must commit to all dress rehearsal and performance dates.
- Season: Fall (early September through mid-November)
- Times/Dates: Rehearsals held daily -- typically after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday rehearsals are from 9-3pm starting late September. Early in rehearsal process, not all students are called for full hours of each rehearsal, but rehearsal time will increase closer to opening night. No Sunday rehearsals or performances. No rehearsals will be held over MEA break.
- Registration/Tryouts: Early September; sign up will be posted outside the Student Activities Office.
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points toward lettering for each participant; consideration for end of the year acting and service awards.

One Act Play
- Location: Performing Arts Center
- Fees: $135
- Description: Tour a one act play to several schools, festivals, and competition
- Requirements/Expectations: Must audition and be present at all rehearsals and performances
- Season: Late-November to mid-February
- Times/Dates: After school, some evenings, and every Saturday in January
- Registration/Tryouts: The week after Thanksgiving Break
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points awarded toward letter for each participant

Trajectories
- Location: Auditorium
- Fees: $35
- Description: Present student-written and student-directed and choreographed short plays and dance numbers.
- Requirements/Expectations: Every student who wishes to be on stage will be cast in one of the shows and must be at all rehearsals and performances.
- Season: Mid-August to early-September
- Times/Dates: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. in August; after school and evenings in September
- Registration/Tryouts: Early August
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points toward lettering for each participant; consideration for end-of-the-year acting, leadership, and service awards.

Winter/ Spring Plays
- Location: Auditorium/Performing Arts Center
- Fees: $135
- Description: Become part of the cast or crew of a full-length play
- Requirements/Expectations: Must audition and attend all rehearsals and performances
- Season: Winter (Late-fall until February); Spring (Early-March until mid-May)
- Times/Dates: After school; some evening and weekend rehearsals
- Registration/Tryouts: Winter: November; Spring: early-March
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points toward lettering for each participant; consideration for end-of-the-year acting, leadership, and service awards.

Tech Crew
- Location: Performing Arts Center, Auditorium, Scene Shop
- Description: Tech Crew is vital to each of our shows! Students build, paint, and decorate each set, and prepare props, costumes, lighting, and sound. Tech Crew encompasses both the build work and the running of the show.
- Requirements/Expectations: Anyone can participate in the build for a show (includes props, costumes, etc.). Tech leadership positions require an application. Run crew for each show is selected from the build crew.
- Season: Each of our seven productions has a tech crew, so there are opportunities from August through the end of May. You can do one show or many shows–whatever works for your schedule.
- Times/Dates: Tech crew usually starts the same week that the show begins rehearsal. Check the EPHS Drama Club GroupMe for details throughout the year. Tech crew works from 3:30-5:30 on most school days. Some Saturdays and evenings required for run crew.
- Registration: Register on MyPaymentsPlus. Tech crew registration is only required once per year, even if you work on multiple shows.
- Fees: $50
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points awarded toward letter for each participant; consideration for end-of-the-year leadership and service awards.

Broadway Extravaganza
- Location: Performing Arts Center
- Description: This is a student-produced variety show featuring student-choreographed dances and solos/duets–all from Broadway musicals.
- Requirements/Expectations: This is a no-cut show, meaning everyone who auditions will be in at least one dance number. Participants must be at all rehearsals and performances. Solos/duets are chosen by audition. Student producers and choreographers are selected ahead of time by application.
- Season: Mid-May through performances in the week that begins with Memorial Day
- Times/Dates: After school and evenings in May
- Registration/Tryouts: Early May
- Fees: none
- Awards/Recognition: Drama points toward lettering for each participant; consideration for end-of-the-year acting, leadership, and service awards.

Interested in joining the EPHS Drama club?
Drama Club is a great way for students to connect, have fun and support drama productions throughout the year. Students are welcome to join the EPHS Drama Club even if they aren’t participating in a production.
