Mock Trial
Club Name: Mock Trial
Mock Trial is a group of EPHS students who are interested in various aspects of the legal system. Teams will litigate an actual legal case each year. Teams are provided with the case materials, which include the problem and rules of evidence and procedure. After students study the hypothetical case, they take the case to "court." A panel of practicing attorneys and judges hears the evidence and arguments, evaluating the performance of the lawyers and witnesses. This is a great place to work on public speaking and critical thinking skills, meet new friends, and learn basics of law and courtroom procedure. Awards include certification of participation; possible Varsity letter; district, regional, state and possible national awards.
