    Math League/Math Counts ( Sept. - Feb.): $20

Math League will start on Monday, September 16. A typical CMS mathlete is a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who excels in math, desires an extra challenge and enjoys competition. During the regular season, mathletes compete against teams at the regional level and 300 teams statewide. These meets are held each month on Mondays. The season begins the middle of September and ends with the students competing for awards in the regional, state, and national Mathcounts competitions in March.

Math League will meet in room 715E after school on Mondays.

The advisor for Math League is Bill Prem

    Speech Team (Season: November 11 - January 28): $20

Students can perform for a small group of people with selections of your choice by competing against other schools in a variety of different speech categories. If you're into speaking, or would like to become better at speaking, this is the club for you.

    • Days/Times: Tuesday and Thursday in room 715C
    • There will be an informational meeting in the cafeteria for students on November 11.
    • The meets will be:
      • Jan. 6 @ Minnetonka Middle School West
      • Jan. 12 @ Minnetonka Middle School East
      • Jan. 22 @ Centennial Lake Middle School
      • Jan. 28 @ Eden Prairie Central Middle School
    • The advisor for the speech team is Erin Webster.

    FTC Robotics (Season: September 8 - December 20): $100

Maximum of 35 students for Robotics

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a robotics competition for students in grades 7-8 to compete head-to-head, by designing, building and programming a robot to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The season begins in September and ends in March depending on regional/state/national qualifications. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Robotics will be meeting at the FTC room at Eden Prairie High School. We have a bus that goes over to the high school everyday for students that compete with high school sports etc. They will be riding that bus. This bus will be in slot 2 and is bus # 1210.

The advisor for the FTC Robotics Team is Ellie Feist.

    Debate Club (TBD): $20

We are excited to announce the formation of a debate club at CMS. The club is open to all middle school students who are interested in learning and honing their debating skills.

This club will provide students with the opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills, improve their public speaking abilities, and engage in lively discussions on a wide range of topics. They will learn about the art of argumentation and how to defend their positions effectively.

    • The advisor is Mrs. Webster.
    • This club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Science Bowl (Sept. 27 - mid Feb): $35

Science Bowl will start on Friday, September 27. A typical CMS Science Bowl participant is a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who excels in Science and Math, desires an extra challenge, and enjoys fast-paced competition. During the regular season, Science Bowl Participants compete against each other at practices (on Fridays), and against other teams at the regional level with 24 teams statewide. There is one Regional Competition, for 2 teams of 5 people on each. If a Science Bowl Participant does not qualify to be on one of the 2 CMS Science Bowl Teams, there is still plenty to enjoy and have fun with at practices on Fridays. Cost includes one t-shirt.

    • Science Bowl will meet in Room 715D after school on Fridays, ending at 5:20 PM. No Activity Bus is available, so parents will need to pick up students or arrange a ride for them.
    • The advisors for Science Bowl are Cathy Bockenstedt and Bill Prem
